Amendments To The Conditions Regarding Waste Pre-Treatment And Recycling Facilities Introduced

The Regulation Amending the Regulation on the General Principles of Waste Pre-treatment and Recycling Facilities ("Regulation") was published in the Official Gazette dated 01.09.2022 and numbered 31940 ("Amendment Regulation").

What Does the Amendment Regulation Bring?
The Amendment Regulation has introduced changes with regard to management, acceptance, and storage of waste.

What is Regulated in the Amendment Regulation?

Wastes that are undeliverable to the collection and sorting facilities are allowed to be sent to other pre-treatment facilities.
For all kinds of wastes, the areas where the wastes are kept are allowed not to be covered.
For responding to the fire immediately in the waste reception units, it has become mandatory to leave an area wide enough for the fire trucks to pass unhindered.
Within the exception of the obligation requiring collection and separation facilities to be at least 1000 m2, the condition of being located “in areas where the entrances and exits are under control” has been added.
